Rental Magazine served equipment rental professionals across North America. As Art Director, I was responsible for cover design, editorial layouts, feature storytelling, and publication branding, helping deliver engaging content that informed industry leaders and supported advertiser success.
Rental Magazine served professionals in the equipment rental industry and required a visual identity that balanced business-focused content with engaging editorial design. Each issue needed to accommodate a wide range of topics, advertisers, and contributors while maintaining a cohesive and recognizable reader experience.
MY ROLE
As Art Director, I was responsible for cover concepts, editorial layouts, feature spreads, infographics, visual storytelling, print production, and maintaining brand consistency across multiple issues annually. I collaborated closely with editors, sales teams, and advertisers to ensure both editorial and business objectives were met.
THE SOLUTION
Developed a flexible editorial system built around strong typography, clear information hierarchy, and compelling visual storytelling. By creating repeatable design standards and publication workflows, each issue remained visually consistent while allowing individual articles and features to stand out.
THE RESULT
Successfully produced multiple national publication issues each year while supporting reader engagement, advertiser visibility, and the magazine’s position as a trusted industry resource. The publication delivered complex industry information in a format that was approachable, professional, and visually engaging.
